Bright, bold colors and plump, free-form, soft shapes make up this super-cuddly love seat. Three plush bubble mounds sit up out of the back like exclamation points, mounted on thick, pill-shaped legs — the whole thing reads like a stuffed animal built into a couch.
A low, rounded orange base upholstered in Kvadrat textile, layered with medium and soft foam over springs for an old-school kind of luxury, and topped with three plump, egg-shaped bolsters arranged in a fan. The legs are hand-turned white cedar, spun by Andrew on a lathe in Canton, Connecticut — the same Atlantic white cedar and the same lathe, in the Bristol family's shop in Canton Center, that produced the legs for the Cloud Cathedral Love Seat. The legs traveled from Connecticut to Los Angeles for final assembly.
The piece invites the kind of sprawled, unstructured sitting its name promises: leaning back into a bolster with legs draped over the seat, curling in sideways with arms slung over two cushions, or lying fully reclined with a bolster as a headrest. It shares its leg-turning lineage with the Cloud Cathedral Love Seat, one more piece built from the same run of hand-spun cedar.
