A long, gently waisted top tapers in at the center along both edges, with the legs mortised into it using a double-tiered wedged mortise-and-tenon joint, the wedges left visible as a row of dark rectangular key inlays running the length of the apron — built to hold, not just to decorate.
It's the fourth piece in the Space/Chelsea Market wood lineage, built from the same reclaimed Southern Yellow/heart pine beams as the Café Tables, the Mini Belly Dining Table, and The Wing Table — all pulled from the original Nabisco factory building during its renovation into Chelsea Market, joined with the same joinery as the Mini Belly and Wing Tables.
Andrew is photographed hanging upside down beneath the finished table, gripping its underside with one hand and hooking a foot over the top edge — the original version of a pose later re-created on the XOX Belly Table.
